Hello, my name is Ryan Shigley and I am a media design student at the University of Colorado - Boulder. Outside of design, I spend almost all of my time involved with ultimate frisbee. Between club, college, and international teams, there is never a time of year that I am not "in season."
While the act itself of playing ultimate brings me so much joy, I find the most gratifying part to be the personal connections that I get to make with my teammates, coaches, and even competitors. This is what motivates me to give everything I can to whatever team I am apart of, which includes captaining both CU and Team Canada to silver medals at the national and world championships respectively.
I am thankful for all the wonderful people I have met through the sport, and I am also thankful for all the opportunities that it's given me. There is very little infrastructure to support teams which means that we must support ourselves. This has made me a better organizer, communicator, leader, and even designer.
